Topic Portals

Topic Portals

support climate web on patreon red backgroundThe goal of the Climate Web is much larger than simply to organize information. However, to achieve that goal requires pulling together a massive amount of information. This Topic Portals page points you to specific topical information collections within the Climate Web. The first three categories of headings take you to Deep Dives, which are comprehensive treatments of the topic shown and organized in a consistent manner. Before jumping to any of these points, you may wish to take a look at our Plugging Into The Climate Web courses — a free series of short help videos that will help you use the Climate Web more effectively. In most cases, when you jump to any listed spot in the Climate Web you will be greeted by a short explanatory video that will help orient you.

Broad Subject Area Deep Dives

Most of these broad subject area information collections are large collections of information. Climate Change Communications, Climate Change Mitigation, and Climate Change Science, for example, include many hundreds if not thousands of items and links. As noted above, the Subject Area Deep Dives are consistently organized.

Sectoral Deep Dives

Some of these Sector Deep Dives are more comprehensive than others. The Electric Sector Deep Dive, for example, is very large given the Climatographers’ long experience with the sector. We are always adding information to each of the sectors, however. Most of the information found in the Sector Deep Dives can also be found in other Deep Dives, but is organized here to focus on sector-specific analysis.

Topical Deep Dives

These Deep Dives focus on specific topics of key relevance to climate change and climate change decision-making. Some of the Topical Deep Dives are quite large and contain substantial in-depth information; others are at a relatively early stage of development. Please feel free to send us materials for inclusion in any of the Deep Dives.

Have Some Fun – Throw a Dart

There are thousands of places in the Climate Web that individual users might find particularly interesting for one reason or another. In this grouping, we have pulled together a small number of non-Deep Dive information collections, including topics and work we think anyone interested in climate change would like to know more about. We also have selected some collections simply to illustrate the breadth of the Climate Web.
